Inauguration Shout Out

As everyone in the world knows, today, President Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States of America.  What an amazing historical day.  Whether you like him or not....you have to admit it was an amazing day for U.S. History.

Both my little sister and brother were fortunate to participate in the Inauguration in a small way, which was exciting for our family.
Brady, who lives in downtown DC, is an attorney with Legislative Counsel in Washington D.C. and he attended the actual Inaguration.  I'm sure he will have some amazing stories to share.
Lacey, who works as an Event Planner in the DC Area, was on the committee that planned one of nineteen Inauguration Balls.  Her particular "Ball" was sponsored by the State of Pennsylvania and NO, President Obama did not attend this Ball.....but word has it that VP Biden, along with many, many other famous Americans might.  What fun for her!!
I hope that as President Obama takes office, all American's, of every race, gender, religion, ethnicity and political party can support him as he begins a difficult job as our Nation's first black President.

I agree, what an amazing thing this is for our country! While it is very difficult to have three of my children live far away.... what wonderful opportunities they have. Lacey commented that D.C. is the most exciting city in the world, and to be able to live here and and be a part of this historical moment was indescribable. Brady is able to be an important part of the political seen each day thru his work. How proud I am of both of them and how hopeful for our future.
